Twitter has been cracking down on Twitter users who use its service to comment on the accounts of other users.
The company’s Twitter account is being shut down on Thursday in the wake of complaints about users posting abusive comments, a user account that appears to be owned by an account associated with a hate group, and accounts that were used to impersonate other Twitter accounts.
The move comes after users complained that the account was using abusive and illegal language.
The account, @theday_fence, has been suspended by Twitter for violating the company’s policies against abusive behavior, and for violating its terms of service, according to a Twitter spokesperson.
The account, which has more than 1.3 million followers, was used to post comments on tweets from the account of a hate website called the Daily Stormer.
Twitter’s account has been shut down because the account had violated the company and its terms, according the spokesperson.
Twitter has no control over the accounts that are associated with hate sites, the spokesperson said.
Users who have posted abusive comments have been banned from the site.
Twitter told Reuters it has been aware of the problem for some time and is working to resolve it.
