I’ve been a big proponent of sconex’s “safe space” policy for years.
While this service does have a safety feature, it’s a very limited safety feature and the actual site doesn’t provide the details for it.
It’s a pretty poor choice for a social networking service, especially if you’re a regular user, since it leaves out a ton of potential safe spaces for people to come together in.
I also really dislike sconext’s approach to privacy.
It seems like they’re trying to build a more open platform by restricting users to their own private, protected communities, while leaving the rest of the site public and public to their content.
I think they’re doing a terrible job at creating an experience that’s both safe and accessible.
I also think the sconeux community has a bad track record with user safety.
The sconexp community, for example, is plagued by the same problems with abuse that plagued the dark social networking community and its “private” communities, which have been repeatedly criticized for their safety.
So far, sconexc has shown little interest in improving its safety policies or its users’ experience with the service, and I’d say that the sconesx community is going to continue to suffer.
What do you think?
I have no idea what Sconext does with its data.
Its users are not informed about what data is being shared with them, nor what information is being used to build the social network.
The only way that I know that Sconex actually collects data is through advertising, which is not transparent.
I’m not sure what Sconesx does with that data, and if it has anything to do with its users.
