How to make it in Canada is a new app that will help you access your social media accounts from anywhere.
The app, called Mews, launched Monday in Canada and will be rolled out across the U.S. in the coming days.
Users will be able to log in using their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts and navigate through their accounts to find news, photos, video and more.
The company says users will be given the option to opt in to be notified when new content appears on social media, which could include new videos and videos uploaded to Facebook or other social networks.
Mews is available for free to Canadian users in the U: www.mews.ca “We believe that the social media is an integral part of every person’s daily life, and we wanted to give Canadians access to the latest news and the latest social media content as quickly as possible,” says Evan Olesen, CEO of the company.
The Canadian government is giving away the app for free through an official social media giveaway program.
Users are invited to download the app and then enter the code to receive an exclusive discount code that will be used to purchase the app, which includes access to their Facebook account and access to any social media pages.
Users can then use their code to download and install the app.
If they choose not to receive the app at the end of the month, the app will be free for all users.
The deal will run through the end March and will include a $20 value for users.
To see if you qualify, users will have to download Mews.
The new app is a joint effort between the Canadian government and the Canadian Association of Social Media (CASSM).
“CASSm is proud to be partnering with a Canadian government agency to offer a free app for Canadians to access their social media,” said Kevin Moberg, CASSM CEO.
“Cassm is very excited to be able offer free social news to Canadians through this unique program, and it is a win-win for all Canadians.”
Mews uses the Facebook News Feed API to provide a unified view of all your Facebook, YouTube and Instagram content, and also offers you the ability to search for news on the sites that you have access to through the app or through the website.
Mobergan says it’s a way for Canadians who don’t regularly use Facebook to be aware of news in their communities and be more involved.
“We want to make sure that we’re able to reach people who are most likely to be interested in what’s happening, and to make the experience a little bit more personal,” he said.
“With the news that’s out there now, there are so many great things happening in Canada that are not reflected in the news in the United States, so that’s why we thought it was important for people to be informed and be involved in their local communities.”
Mobergon says the company will also be making a push to educate Canadians about the benefits of the app as well.
“This is a great opportunity to tell Canadians about some of the social platforms that are out there, and why they’re really important,” he says.
