Azerbayans social network, Azerbitz, has already made a splash in the social media sphere with its popular hashtags #AZEB, #AZB, and #AZI.
But Azerbin’s newest social network has been making waves in the cryptocurrency community as well.
The project has recently raised a whopping $40 million from a group of investors led by billionaire and ASEAN chairman John Ko, as well as the likes of the Chinese internet giant Tencent and Chinese tech giant Alibaba.
“This is not the first time AzerB is raising money in the crypto space, and this time we’re seeing the success of our platform in a way that no one has ever seen before,” Ko told the cryptocurrency media outlet CoinDesk in an interview.
“I think the reason this is going so well is because Azerbs users are using the platform to support the social networks that are helping them make their voices heard,” Ko continued.
“This is a huge milestone in Azerbos development and we’re very excited about what this platform can do for Azerbaijan.”
The AZEB platform is currently available in China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
But the majority of users in these countries are in the region of Azerbaijan, where the AZE-brand is synonymous with independence and cultural diversity.
“We think that by launching our platform, we can start to spread the word that Azerbaijan is a unique country that is developing as a country and we want to be a part of this,” AZE Bancroft said.
The platform is available in more than 60 languages and is available on iOS, Android, and Windows 10, according to Ko.
Azerbi is a relatively young social media platform, but Ko said that its success could lead to other social media platforms in the future.
“I think there are so many potentials to the platform, that we can’t wait to see what happens in the next few months,” he said.
“As long as Azerbais users continue to support our platform and its members continue to build up their communities, we think this platform will be a game changer for Azerbaijanis and we hope it can continue to do well for many years to come,” Ko said.AZE BANCROFT / CoinDesk/REUTERSThe company also said that it plans to add more languages in the near future, including Russian and Turkish.
The platform also plans to create a digital identity that will allow users to access other social networks on the platform.
“In the future, AZEb is going, and AZE will continue to grow.
This is not only a social network for Azerbaijan, but also for all of us who have lived in this country for so long,” Ko added.
Azhans social networks, however, are also going through some rough times.
AZE has been in financial trouble for years, with a significant loss in 2016, but the platform has been able to pull together some major funding in the past few months.
Azerboras financial woes have caused the platform’s investors to drop out of the platform as well, which is something Ko said the company has worked hard to fix.
“The financial problems that we are facing are a result of the many challenges we have faced over the years,” Ko explained.
“We have taken great strides in the last few years and we are going to make sure that we will have the resources and resources to keep the platform going in the coming years.”
