This week, the company released a study showing that Facebook is now the most visited social network worldwide and more popular in the US than the top two sites, Twitter and Google.
Facebook users in the United States now use Facebook at about 10 times the rate of users in Britain, which accounts for almost half of the global population, according to the study.
Facebook is one of a growing number of US-based social networks that have started to grow in popularity.
The study was conducted by the social network analytics company NetMarketShare and was based on data from 1,000 users on the platform.
According to the research, Facebook users spend a third of their time on Facebook, and the most frequently used topics are football and politics.
The study also showed that more than half of Facebook users were interested in politics and politics topics, which account for nearly a quarter of all social media usage in the country.
