A mentor website is an online community that allows college football coaches and players to share information and build relationships.
The idea is to get coaches and teammates to share their personal information so they can help other teams recruit better, the College Football News website reported.
The mentor platform has attracted a number of top prospects, such as former Alabama wide receiver T.J. Yeldon and former USC wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
A recent survey of college coaches and NFL scouts found that coaches and teams were using it for a variety of reasons.
The most popular reason is to build relationships with the players and coaches.
According to the survey, “49 percent of coaches and executives who have used the platform said they use it to find coaches to recruit, build relationships and build trust with prospects.”
