This episode we talk with Sam Paxinos, who created a beautiful external port for the new macbook. What’s interesting is that he designed this and got it ready as soon as the macbook was announced – but before it was launched.

  • Tip 1: Monitor upcoming product releases and design products which increase the convenience of their use.
  • Tip 2: Drawing by hand. Get your sketches down early. Backers want to see how you came up with the idea. This can serve as the basis for the next step of designs.

How Sam did this:

  • He saw that the new Apple Macbook was coming out and he designed a port expander which would fit properly, look nice, and be functional.

Raised: $19,000+

Goal: $15,000

Successful campaign: yes.
