Something in the back of your mind might remind you that processed foods from the supermarket are full of unknown chemicals, hormones, food coloring. Every few years, we learn about some break out of disease on the farms where animals are not kept in the right conditions. There has been mad cow disease, bird flu, and probably a lot that we don’t hear about.
What if there were a cleaner, more sustainable source of protein?
Katharina Unger was traveling around the world and realized that other societies especially in Asia were able to get a percent of their protein from an unusual source.
Since these societies had been cultivating and consuming this source of protein for hundreds of years, she thought it could possibly be an alternative to the processed and chemical infused foods available in supermarkets.
Ok. Ready for the surprise? It was worms!
Building on this idea, Katharina realized that while we have been programmed to think of hamburger meat as clean and healthy, it is often exactly the opposite. And while we have been conditioned to think of worms as dirty, they can be grown in an extremely clean chemically free system.
LIVIN Farms is that system.
Who can benefit from LIVIN Farms?
If you live in a city, it’s not really practical to grow your own protein. But for anyone who is busy, this is an interesting option. It’s definitely something that survivalists or peppers would love to have – as it allows them to have a steady supply of protein off the grid.
Who are the makers behind LIVIN Farms?
Katharina was a lot of fun to talk with, and she has a ton of very good insights that you will learn in the audio interview.
