Did you ever find yourself stumbling in the dark? Imagine you are walking home alone at night and wished you had a bit more light? How many times have you seen someone riding a bike at night, and noticed that their bike light was not working?
Or what if you are hiking or camping and you want that extra bit of light to guide your way, or give your tent a bit of light to read by before you fall asleep.
Many people have small desk areas, and they would love a compact light that doesn’t take up too much room.
The unique solution?
SWITCH is the lamp which can work on your desktop, and then in seconds fold up and go on the walk with you to your bike, and then snap onto the front of your bike in seconds to become your safety light on your ride home.
SWITCH is so compact, and lightweight that it fits in your pocket, but the design is flexible so you can wear the light on your belt, your bike or use it on your desk.
Who are the makers of SWITCH?
Speaking with Alex is inspiring. He and his co-founders are still studying at university. In fact, they are doing their Ph.D.s in Chemistry.
You can be a full time student, busy with your coursework, your thesis, and still find time to bring an innovative and useful product to market such as SWITCH.
What can we learn from these Makers?
Alex and his team are so busy with their coursework, their thesis, and the normal distractions of being in a graduate program at a top university – the first thing we can learn from them is how to set a goal, and then put together a schedule to see it through.
Alex and his co-founders would meet every weekend to give updates on what they got done and what challenges they had to solve. This kept the project moving forward, which motivated everyone to keep putting in effort.
As they got closer to the launch, they had more regular meetings and put in a lot more time to find the right manufacture, reach out to the press, and make sure that every aspect of the campaign and the product would live up to it’s promise.
The audio interview has a lot of good advice (right below the photo at the top of the page).
Who is the target market for this product?
Pretty much everyone should strongly consider buying a SWITCH because it’s just there when you need it. Imagine a snow storm, and your SWITCH is sitting in the glove box, or when you have a power outage?
SWITCH is useful on a day to day basis, but it can become essential in emergencies.
Oh, did we mention that it also serves as a power supply for your phone?
